Job DescriptionThe NBC News Streaming Analytics team is seeking an Analyst to join our team. The analytics team supports the health and growth of NBC News and TODAY’s digital streaming and podcast products with data and insights. The Analyst will play a critical role on the team — building and maintaining our core dashboards, which monitor the performance of our products and experiences and are key to informing decision making. This highly visible role interfaces with teams throughout the organization such as editorial, marketing, communications, product, operations and business development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Explore, query and analyze complex data sets to develop actionable insights to drive decision makingBuild and distribute dashboards that measure the overall performance of NBC News streaming and audio products and flag opportunities for growth and improvementRegularly present in cross functional meetings on streaming and audio performance trends through data visualizationsWork closely with communication and marketing teams to position NBC News streaming and audio assets within the marketplaceResearch and monitor the streaming and audio landscapeAssist the NBC News research team in ad-hoc analyses involving additional areas including editorial, product, finance and marketingQualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS in Data Science, Statistics, Business, Mathematics, Journalism, or relevant work experience1+ years of experience in an analyst positionAdvanced data collection and visualization skills using tools like Domo, Tableau, and/or Microsoft ExcelProficiency in analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Parse.ly, or similarPrior experience in media, entertainment, broadcasting, or technology preferredExperience with large datasets and databases (SQL, etc.)Familiarity with TV, digital and social measurement methodologies (Nielsen, Comscore, Facebook, YouTube, ListenFirst, etc.)Strong project/process management skills with experience managing multi-team workflowsAbility to work independently and in remote or hybrid environmentDESIRED SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS:
