Analyst, Financial Institutions Group - London

Mercer is looking for an Analyst to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in London or Dublin.

The Analyst would be responsible for working within Mercer’s Financial Institutions team, supporting the growth of the Mercer’s revenues from wealth managers, insurance companies, family offices and other types of financial intermediaries globally. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to join a growing and successful team within a global organisation.

This role could suit either a candidate with experience of wealth managers or insurance companies or possibly someone from a Fund Management, Banking or Management Consulting background looking for a new opportunity. This role is ideal for individuals who are interested in developing towards the following career paths:

We will rely on you to: 

Support the Global FIG (Financial Institutions Group) Leader and Propositions leaders in the continued development and evolution of FIG strategy.Contribute to producing information on FIG for internal stakeholders, such as sales pipelines, revenue forecasts, tracking initiatives, accurate client data (AUA/AUM by client type) etc.Working in conjunction with and providing support to in-country Sales Leaders across markets to identify, target and close prospects.Contribute to creating prospect pitches and supporting RFPs, including the production of meeting materials and tailoring presentations to specific client needs.Analyze industry, fund and competitor information to support the sales process.Help execute and coordinate partnerships with external counterparties, such as fund managers and service providers Assist with new client take-on process - working with and alongside client take-on specialists, business development, and operations.As required, liaise closely with other internal teams such as Mercer’s performance reporting team, manager research, marketing, responsible investment and investment strategy, in order to both resolve problems and support in general strategy executionSupport oversight of teams and projects by monitoring activity / milestone / project lists and working with FIG management to facilitate accountability and address challenges and opportunities that arise over the course of the year.Participate in networking events, conferences, and industry meetings to promote the company.Support marketing and communications activity across FIG.

What you need to have:

Evident relevant experience in financial services and demonstrable academic and early professional achievement.Passion about pursuing a career in investments and committed to staying current with industry trends and developments.Innate curiosity about investing, the infrastructure around investing, and distribution of investment products.A desire to develop your understanding of the job as well as tackling relevant professional qualifications.Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to distil complex information into clear and concise insights for clients.Ability to work within a team environment, share ideas and present persuasive arguments.Excellent planning and organisational skills to prioritise and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks.
