What You’ll Be Doing
CIBC’s Global Markets business focuses on delivering expert financial and economic analysis and savvy deal-making capabilities to clients in Canada and around the world. The Global Markets team supports foreign exchange, commodities, fixed income, derivatives, equities and growth markets and is focused on building a strong, innovative relationship-oriented bank.
Within the Global Markets division, the Wealth Solutions Group, FX and PM, is responsible for the distribution of foreign exchange and commodities products to CIBC clients from Canadian Banking to Private Wealth, Wood Gundy Investment Advisors, Investor’s Edge, and third-party clients. We also cross-sell products from other Wealth Solutions Group teams, as well as the broader Global Markets team. You will be focused on the marketing of our products within the CIBC network, via both inbound and outbound calls and in-person connections. As a member of the Wealth Solutions Group, your responsibilities will range from driving growth in sales to existing and new clients, trade booking, market analysis, and sales reporting as your main responsibilities.

How You’ll Succeed
Sales Management - Sell Foreign Exchange (FX) and Precious Metals (PM) products into CIBC Retail Bank channels and manage relationships within Global Banks and Retail Bank to grow our businesses. Understand who our clients are and what their needs are through these relationships to grow our share of wallet, and contribute to the growth of our p/l by winning and retaining client business. Increase team productivity and efficiency with idea generation to improve operational processes
Client Engagement- Cross-sell other Global Market products including foreign exchange, commodities, basic derivatives, and investment products; based on product availability and customer requirements, making sound judgment for both firm and client. Execute client orders via multiple channels, using various dealing platforms, while maintaining process integrity and detailed accuracy. Work with product heads to develop ideas and solution plans for clients, and execute in a timely manner as required
Market Intelligence - Monitor, track and analyze market activities and economic factors, on an ongoing basis throughout the day. Be knowledgeable and able to respond to client requests from an informed position
Continuous Development - On your own initiative, develop product knowledge through directed or self-directed study. Be prepared to cross train as required and suggested by management. Share any developed skills, knowledge, ideas with management and colleagues within the Wealth and Retail Solutions Group, and beyond. Attend learning sessions held by the Trading Room as required.
Who You Are
You have an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), Economics, Finance, or Commerce
You’re passionate about people. You know how to connect with people in various scenarios
You have strong communication skills. You can clearly articulate complex conceptual information/ideas in English on issues involving extensive knowledge based interpretation, both in person and over the phone
You are naturally curious. Digging to solve problems and create solutions. Thinking multiple steps ahead
You put our clients first. You are able to quickly acquire knowledge, demonstrate competence, and add value to transactions and client relationships. You have excellent inter-personal and relationship building skills in order to develop, manage and leverage relationships with internal and/or external business partners, and our end clients
You are technically savvy. Python, SQL, VBA, as well as big data management skills
You can demonstrate strong project management skills. You have efficient organizational skills to respond to shifting priorities while working on several simultaneous projects. Proven ability to develop viable product ideas and lead product development processes from idea generation through to closing.
You’re fluent in English with strong communication skills. Its an asset if you’re fluent in French
