The Import Operations and Compliance Analyst will work with U.S. Customs, the FDA, and the USDA for product clearance and release. **HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:** + File the entry with Customs and the FDA (if applicable) via ABI, includes managing and filing cross border entries. + File ISF for any ocean shipment within the required time frame when new bookings are received. + File Prior Notice as the need arises for any import of food products (dietary supplements, raw materials, etc.). + Review shipping documents for accuracy and completeness and apply HTS and FDA codes for each Sku. HTS codes will be supplied by Import Supervisor or other staff member from the Global Trade Compliance team. + Create electronic import files in SharePoint for shipment tracking and Customs compliance purposes upon receipt of U.S. in-bound shipments. Upload all import documents related to each shipment. + Review Veterinary Health Certificate(s) against the corresponding Import Permit(s) as applicable for accuracy. Any discrepancies are to be reported to the Import Supervisor. + Upload import documents into Customs DIS system, and/or FDA’s ITACS system if requested by either agency. + Monitor the entry status of each current import shipment daily and provide an update to all concerned departments of any holds or delays. + Complete all necessary Customs and/or FDA forms to obtain shipment release. + Process daily duty statements. + Review Liquidation Notices to confirm duties and taxes. + Handle all Customs, FDA, and other government agency correspondence in connection with U.S. imports which includes ATS shipments via FedEx and other courier methods. + Review TSP import freight invoices for accuracy of charges and assign G/L code and approve payment. + File Non-Compliance Reports for TSP failures pertaining to imports. + Coordinate the delivery of imports with the inland carrier. + Enter shipment updates and details into Oracle for PAIRS reports and notify Shipping/Receiving of delivery status. + Review Receiving Report (dock receipt) for quantity and country of origin verification. + Ensure all import shipment data is entered into the Transportation Access Report for month end reporting purposes. + Enter all required import data into the monthly Import Report by the 10th of each month for the prior month. + Accuracy of data and detail in the monthly Import Report is graded using an Import Analyst Scorecard. The Import Scorecard is based on an accuracy percentage which must be met each month. The required accuracy percentage is 97%. + Assist the department Supervisor with various U.S. and global compliance projects and critical initiatives as needed. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** None **Qualifications** **SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:** + Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint + Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead multiple projects simultaneously + Strong research and analytical skills + Ability to work independently + Excellent customer service skills + Strong attention to detail and accuracy **Experience:** + 3-5 years of experience working with a Customs Brokerage firm handling import entries and product classification + Working knowledge and understanding of U.S. Customs Regulations + Customs Broker’s License **Education:** + High School diploma + OGA knowledge, specifically FDA and USDA \#LI-GB1 At Herbalife, we value doing what’s right.
