Position Summary

The Analyst, IT – Application Administration is responsible for implementing technical projects and participates in the planning of technical projects. The position guides and documents application releases via requirements gathering, risk and impact analysis, system configuration, validation, and implementation stages. The role monitors and maintains business-critical IT systems that promote clinical research.  The Analyst, IT – Application Administration provides expertise and guidance concerning the supported applications.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Analyzes, deploys, configures, tests, and maintains supported software systems and applications Ensures systems and related infrastructure are maintained and released in a manner that comports with regulatory compliance & security policies Monitors upcoming application and module releases for risk, impact, and system stability, and recommends optimal implementation roadmap based on this analysis Participates in the release process to ensure proper controls around data integrity and patient safety are maintained Ensures application releases, maintenance and activities are documented per DCRI SDLC policies Troubleshoot concerns and respond to inquiries from application users in a timely fashion Collects and analyzes data on system usage and related user concerns Promotes application awareness and familiarity via authoring guidance documents and providing system overviews & demonstrations Accountable for adherence and compliance with all IT Operations policies, procedures, BSAs, SLAs, SOPs, WIs and related documentation as applicable to assigned solutions Identifies and recommends solutions for system inefficiencies Supports user administration and ensures robust user authentication controls are utilized on supported applications Accountable for operational activities and support for assigned on premise applications and selected functions for externally hosted solutions Other responsibilities as assigned May help to define functional and non-functional requirements of software systems May support and improve the tools for continuous build and deployment, automated testing, logging, security, monitoring and release management from development to production Participates in the development of long-range planning for new projects and upgrades of existing projects Integrates the functionality of applications and systems used within DCRI to maximize technical environment Participates in system architecture design

 

 

 

 

Education and Experience

BA or BS in computer science, mathematics or an Information Technology-related field and two or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 

Skills, Training and Certifications

Experience with Operating System configuration and functionality (Linux, Windows, etc.) Understanding of SDLC processes Ability to translate business process language into requirements and system design Experience with relational database concepts and products Experience with web architecture, application development, and security procedures Experience in version management and change control discipline Maintains technical acumen and best practice subject matter expertise for assigned application Effectively communicates, both orally and in writing, and has ability to facilitate cross-functional communication, including ability to identify and resolve conflict Ability to provide reliable time estimates and to handle multiple assignments at one time
