Analyst, Portfolio Management (Leverage)

The Leveraged Loans Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Leveraged Loans team in their performance of financial analysis and the preparation of underwriting documents to support complex, multimillion-dollar LBOs, MBOs, go-privates and recapitalizations.  Additionally, the Leveraged Loans Analyst will assist the team with the ongoing credit monitoring, LCF modeling, underwriting and diligence on new transactions and annual reviews.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist in gathering and analyzing all relevant financial data for a client or prospect, including analyzing historical performance, accurately calculating credit metrics, identifying risks and mitigants, assessing creditworthiness, etc.Assist in modeling future financial performance of clients and prospects, including downside and breakeven scenarios.Assist in preparing a thorough credit underwriting document identifying credit risks and mitigants, industry concerns, market share trends, financial trends, and other pertinent credit issuesAssist in Leveraged Cash Flow due diligence.Assist Syndications/Relationship Managers in structuring transactions, as applicableTake part in the approval process for lending commitments, amendments, waivers and consents, including answering questions from Credit Executives when appropriateAssist in compliance with all Know Your Customer (“KYC”) regulationsProperly maintain documentation and necessary business recordsAssist senior staff in monitoring the ongoing financial performance of portfolio companies and tracking covenant compliance

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

Experience with / knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including significant experience with Microsoft ExcelDemonstrated strong written skillsProficiency in financial analysis and financial modelingUnderstanding of fundamental Corporate Finance conceptsAbility to plan, multi-task, manage time effectively, and work independently with limited directionAbility to communicate professionally, competently, and persuasively in verbal and written formats

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business.
