Job Summary: 

 

Candidate's primary responsibility will be to provide support in pricing strategy and price execution for retention pricing for all NRG brands in the Northeast electricity and natural gas markets. Candidate will collaborate with groups across the organization to deliver on NRG’s goals.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Provide pricing for NRG brands residential and small business rates in the market, ensuring timely and accurate costing and pricing within regulatory constraints.

Understand and react to electricity and natural gas costing and changes in key components. 

Collect data from various sources to provide insights through reporting and analytics. This includes pulling large amounts of data from multiple databases, researching external data such as utility rates and market rules, and collecting inputs from various groups within the business.

Manage product and pricing quality assurance.

Help with various regulatory reporting that relates to pricing.

Identify and develop requirements to address gaps in products and pricing functionality.

Build and manage relationships across the various groups within the business to ensure smooth exchange of ideas and proper implementation of processes.

Ad hoc data analysis and reporting. Special projects as needed.

 

Working Conditions:

 

Open office environment.

Some overtime required as special projects arise.

Remote or partially remote opportunity.

Minimal travel.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Advanced computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel. Elementary SQL skills required; intermediate SQL skills preferred.

Strong analytical skills and ability to process information from a variety of sources to develop well thought out recommendations.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

BS in Business, Finance, Economics or Mathematics or related field

Knowledge of energy markets and trading (natural gas and electricity futures); Northeast markets experience strongly preferred.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

Detail oriented and able to produce accurate work products

Comfort with ambiguity; ability to work with incomplete data or seemingly open-ended questions and translate into actionable analysis

Willing to learn multiple internal user interface systems

Troubleshoot issues and work with IT/Billing/Operations to drive them to resolution

Able to handle multiple priority tasks and meet short deadlines with minimal supervision
