Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations._ + Drive results through action-oriented initiatives and strong relationship-building skills + Innovate and creatively solve problems, taking full ownership of your projects + Represent American Airlines in negotiations and business dealings, both internally and externally + Act as a catalyst for change, streamlining processes for greater efficiency + Conduct in-depth research and analysis of commodities and categories + Assist with the development and implementation of category strategies as a strategic thinker + Assist with RFP processes and contract negotiations + Enhance company value while fostering positive supplier relationships + Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs and integrate them into procurement processes + Communicate effectively, demonstrating emotional intelligence in all interactions **All you'll need for success** **Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + ​Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training **Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + Advanced degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related field + Proficiency in Source to Pay systems​ + Experience in vendor relationship management + Skills in process mapping and supplier risk analysis **Skills, Licenses & Certifications** + Knowledge of supply chain concepts, with work or internship experience applying those concepts + Negotiating and influencing skills + Ability to be self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks with exhibited follow through and initiative + Business understanding, particularly in project management, early supplier involvement, total cost management and financial analysis + Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting and quality improvement + High ethical standards + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) + Solid understanding of supply chain management principles **What you'll get** Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: + Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
