Analyst, Provider Relations

Overview:

 

Position Overview:The Provider Relations Analyst is responsible for assisting with revenue cycle performance improvement initiatives by providing Physician Billing analytical support to the Director of Provider Relations and the Provider Billing Partners. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining collaborative and productive relationships within the organization, identifying and supporting operational performance improvement initiatives related to revenue enhancement and providing direction and oversight of processes impacting cash collections. This position would be recognized as Analyst-level role in scope and the individual would be a key member of the internal Professional Central Billing Office team.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (% of Time Spent)Data Analytics (80%)Develop and summarize key revenue cycle metrics for providers, including, but not limited to, open encounters, charge lag, revenue, billed charges, cash collections, initial denials, avoidable write-offs, and aged receivablesSupport Provider Billing Partners and Director, Provider Relations in developing AR summaries and key takeaways for provider facing meetings as well as identifying trends across the revenue cycleIdentify provider performance trends, analyze these trends through detailed account reviews and prepare recommendations to the Provider Relations team regarding areas requiring improvement or additional training needs in support of maximizing reimbursement across providersUtilize and validate information from multiple internal and external resources, such as Epic and Tableau dashboards, to ensure data accuracyPull, organize, and analyze data out of Epic to supplement metric scorecards to help identify performance improvement opportunitiesPerform ad hoc analyses to identify opportunity areas within each provider’s revenue cycle operationContinuously work to identify opportunities to optimize provider dashboards, reporting, and overall resourcesCommunication (15%)Partner with Provider Billing Partners to share operational updates, present metrics that monitor revenue cycle performance and identify strategic improvement opportunitiesEscalate opportunities to optimize dashboards and reporting through automation and inclusion of new, more impactful metricsTraining (5%)Identify training opportunities for front office staff, providers, PCBO staff and/or vendor partners through metric researchEscalate training opportunities to appropriate stakeholders as needed, if outside of core responsibilities (e.g., provider education)

 

Qualifications Education RequirementBachelors Degree from an accredited university is required.Experience RequirementMinimum of 2 years’ experience in an analytical role, revenue cycle management, or healthcare consulting. Experience with professional billing for surgical providers strongly preferred. Familiarity with insurance payor behaviors and reimbursement policies strongly preferred.Skills RequirementStrong financial acumen within professional billingAbility to develop, organize, and present analytical data and statistical reports in various formats including key takeaways using data to support next stepsExcellent verbal and written communication skills and exhibit outstanding listening capabilityStrong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and set goalsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Excel including, but not limited to, PivotTables, Macros, Conditional Formatting, Advanced FormulasExperience in understanding healthcare industry technology, regulatory laws, and regulationsDemonstrated ability to work productively, independently, and collaboratively in a team environment requiring quick turnaround and quality output while juggling multiple competing prioritiesAbility to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflictUnquestionable personal integrity that exudes professional credibility and motivationEpic Professional Billing modules and reporting (Hyperspace, Cubes, Caboodle, Tableau) experience preferred Other Requirements #LI-JL1 Pay Range - Minimum USD $90,000.00/Yr.
