**Job Description:**
The US Energy / Oilfield Services Equity Research team is based in New York City and covers US as well as Global companies. The supportive role requires keen interest and ability to understand global oil & gas markets, particularly as it related to the technology and value drivers across the traditional as well as emerging Energy / Oilfield Services industry. A fundamental understanding of the rapidly evolving Power and Energy Transition markets are an added plus, where Energy/Oilfield Service companies are investing today to broaden their portfolio offerings across diverse verticals, like CCUS, Hydrogen, and behind-the-meter power generation, just to name a few. Accordingly, the team is looking for someone who has interest in the historical backdrop of the energy sector, anticipates new and emerging trends, and helps effectively communicate these across the team as part of determining investment recommendations.
The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of experience in public markets, ideally focused on Energy / Oil and Gas. This candidate will support the team in all aspects from idea generation, participating in company meetings, communicating with BAC internal and external clients with the primary role to support financial modeling and qualitative analysis that helps formulate investment opinions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
+ Write regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratch
+ Develop databases integral to our research product
+ Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
+ Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
+ Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
+ Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
+ Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders
+ Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity
+ Seek out new, unusual sources of information
+ Interact regularly with clients
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
+ 1-4 years of experience focusing in equity research, wholesale credit, buy side experience or investment banking experience
+ Strong writing and modeling skills.Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
+ Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment.
+ Must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal
+ Must enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research
+ Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
+ Must have experience in energy banking, equity research and/or consulting
+ Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
