Job Overview
Support the Film Tax Credit Team’s efforts to administer the NJ Film & Digital Media Tax Credit Program.The candidate should have strong analytical problem-solving skills, the ability to work on small project teams, and the capacity to effectively interact with industry professionals, Authority leadership, and board members.Must possess strong written (presentations, memos, and emails) and oral presentation skills.$65,484 - $81,855
Note: The NJEDA currently offers a hybrid work schedule for up to 2 days of telecommute work from home. To participate, you will be required to have high speed home internet access and a managers approval. This program does not supersede the "New Jersey First Act", which requires newly hired NJEDA employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
ResponsibilitiesDuties
Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:
Engage with applicants during the qualification and eligibility process to advance applications to stages such as Operations/Underwriting. This includes ensuring all required documentation and information are submitted as part of the full application package for the due diligence process. Expected activities include but are not limited to:Establishing a relationship and determining applicant eligibility.Managing customer expectations regarding timing and the review process.Obtaining and reviewing client applications and project scopes.Assist customers, leads, and applicants on opportunities available to companies intending to make capital investments and create job opportunities within New Jersey’s film and digital media industry.Assist with maintaining project-based research and analysis, including tracking industry trends at the state, regional, and national levels, identifying key industry issues state government could help resolve, and providing industry and policy updates to internal government stakeholders.Projects:
Support the Film & Digital Media Financing & Incentives Manager in launching and administering the department’s evolving suite of programs.Create and maintain a pipeline of opportunities, while engaging the marketplace to discover new ones.Collaborate with NJEDA’s marketing and communications teams to ensure the website is accurate, programs are properly marketed, success stories are shared, and, on at least an annual basis, program outcomes are reported to the Executive Committee and board. Program enhancements, efficiencies, and improvements are also recommended.Draft and maintain board memo templates, approval letters, and other program documentation.Goals and Objectives:
Maintain a pipeline of project applications and review new submissions for completeness.Support the Film Tax Credit team in maintaining application turnaround times and a positive reputation with industry stakeholders, while acting as an industry-development advocate. These efforts may include representing the Authority at industry events, conducting company research, and acting as a company liaison within the EDA.Work with internal and external stakeholders to present the values and requirements of the Film & Digital Media Financing & Incentives products.
Collaboration and Cross-Divisional Interaction:
Collaborates closely with Product Operations team members and others, ensure that after the application hand-off, projects continue advancing toward approval. Collaborates with Post Approval and Closing departments to manage the relationship towards funding.Reporting Structure:
The Film Analyst reports directly to the Film Tax Credit Director and will assist Program Officers as needed.Must complete an annual self-assessment as required.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Assist other teams within the Authority with tasks or processing applications as needed. NJEDA utilizes Microsoft as the core application platform and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
