This role is a junior to early-career entry point to a client coverage focused career in an origination unit of Corporate and Investment Banking. We are looking for more than just an Analyst. We are seeking a candidate with the capability to add value today, and with the potential for a long-term career within our team. In collaboration with two junior NY team members, the Analyst will support four Trade Finance Relationship Managers ("RMs") and will provide direct client management functions. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a deep intellectual curiosity, a passion for corporate finance and technology, and outstanding interpersonal skills/EQ.
The Analyst role will require regular interaction with clients and internal partners, however, there is a large body of specific product information that can only be learned on the job. Productive client interactions require a solid understanding of our products and how we can put forth solutions to our clients. It is essential that the successful candidate be capable of finding ways to autonomously drive learning and take a degree of responsibility/ownership for development by proactively seeking out opportunities for learning and improvement.
The Analyst is expected to grow into an independent problem solver. The ambition to develop leadership skills, both laterally and vertically, is essential.

Supports foreign banks and their clients' needs in North America and acts as a trusted partner to mitigate risks in international trade.
The role will support the business located in New York to enhance client relationships and corporate origination efforts. Clients have global footprints but are mostly located in the United States and Europe.
Depth & Scope:
Trade Finance OriginationWorks within a deal team under the overall direction of a senior managerUnderstand the overall TDS client origination strategy, particularly that of CIBBecome familiar with TDS clients across industries such as: Communication, Media, and Telecom; Diversified; Consumer Products; Industrials; and PowerReview credit tools and financials to understand clients' requirementsDevelop relationships with key internal business partners: CIB, GTB, Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Global Markets Bond DeskManage NY deal pipeline via Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools – Salesforce and internal trackingWork closely with GTF teams in Toronto and VancouverRelationship DevelopmentPrepare presentations and discussion materials/term sheetsArrange / engage in client calls and preparation of call reportsAssist in term sheet negotiationCollaborate with product partners including Trade Finance Operations ("TFO"), DCM, Derivatives, FX, Rates, ensuring appropriate presentation contributionSupport deal communication with CIB relationship managersAssist in closing new businessAs new business is awarded, facilitate all aspects of facility approval, including Know Your Customer (KYC), & instrument issuanceAssist Originator with review of facility documentation with clientsAssist in execution of trade finance strategyEducation & Experience:
