Analyst II Account Management (Insurance/Reinsurance)

Guy Carpenter is seeking a candidate for the Analyst II Account Management (Insurance/Reinsurance) position in our Chicago, IL office.

The Analyst II Account Manager is responsible for all post placement support activities of the account and provides support to account team members as required.  The Analyst prompts and monitors key activities and tasks at binding and post binding to promote complete and timely compliance with quality and regulatory-driven processes and procedures in accordance with published guidelines.  Capable of coordinating activities autonomously.  Liaise with others internally and externally to facilitate efficient and effective post-placement activities and services to brokers, clients, and markets.

Responsibility

Binding and Post Binding Support

Review all client and market correspondence for completeness to the placement to adhere to compliance requirements.

Obtain and review client  binding confirmation to ensure accuracy to GC binding documentation.  Address any discrepancies with broker and work to clarify and/or correct

Obtain market binding confirmation ensuring accuracy to the GC binding document.  Address any discrepancies with broker and work to clarify and/or correct.

Process binding documents to both clients and markets ensuring that all information is accurate to the client and market binding documents; obtaining policy and market confirming numbers.

Process final documentation to both clients and markets inclusive of all client specific requirements for accounting, outside internet platform requirements and any other specific requirements on a client by client basis.

Obtain and review client policies; identifying discrepancies, working with the placing broker and client to rectify any discrepancies, obtain market approvals, process amending endorsements to certificates as required.

Create diaries for receipt of client policies and market signed document(s) in compliance with established requirements.

During the placement term comply with client requests for placement changes; working with the broker and markets as required to ensure a satisfactory outcome for all parties.

Maintain the placement file ensuring that the control documentation is accurate and up to date.

Invoice all premiums for the placement liaise internally and externally to address invoicing / accounting issues and resolve.

Business Knowledge

Maintain broad understanding of the environment in which the client operates and the marketplace in which the transactions that Guy Carpenter handles take place.

Participate in team meetings and activities to share opinions, ideas, knowledge and solutions; maintain strong working relationships and participate in initiatives and/or contribute where required to deliver outcomes.  Seek opportunities to increase own understanding and improve the services provided.

Compliance and Regulatory Review

Ensure all records/forms for assigned accounts are properly completed and stored in accordance with policy.

Understand all best practice procedures and compliance policies.  When new procedures are provided, understand and adopt new procedures as rolled out, take required training and speak up with any question or concerns uncovered in your role at Guy Carpenter.

Follow all best practice procedures and compliance requirements, including but not limited to building a complete placement file as the placement progresses to minimize errors & omissions.

What you need to have: 

Associate’s Degree and applicable or transferrable experience preferred.

3-5 years related experience in insurance/reinsurance industry. 

Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance concepts and terms for developing submissions, reviewing contract wordings.

Basic knowledge and understanding of insurance/reinsurance accounting and claims handling.

Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining good internal relationships and interactions with clients and reinsurers.

Strong verbal and writing skills for internal and external communications with clients, reinsurers, GC colleagues at various levels.

Strong ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.  

Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail and multi-task.

Good problem-solving skills to identify problems and to begin to formulate resolutions and recognize when to escalate to manager.

Good computer skills.  Proficient in Microsoft Products.
