The Tax Senior is responsible for performing for various tasks including preparation of monthly tax provisions, income tax returns, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and other compliance. This is a key position in the tax department that ensures the Liberty entities meet and comply with various internal and external tax reporting and regulatory requirements. \#LI-Hybrid **Accountabilities** + Prepare interim and annual income tax provisions to support public reporting and stand-alone financial statement requirements. + Prepare Income tax provision of Liberty West and Central region entities. + Work with Regulatory and Accounting groups and provide tax expertise in preparation, support, and defense of rate case filings. + Prepare quarterly and annual filings for various federal and state regulatory authorities. + Reconcile tax and tax related accounts on a monthly basis. + Help senior managers in managing income tax compliance process and review US federal and state tax returns prepared by outsourcing provider (Big 4). + Communicate with the Internal Revenue Service and various state taxing authorities in connection with tax audits and tax notices. + Actively embrace a digital skills mindset by demonstrating regular identification and execution of process improvements that further the Finance transformation. + Respond to ad hoc tax queries and advise internal parties of tax implications on transactions as needed. **Education and Experience** + Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in U.S. corporate income tax along with a professional accounting designation (CPA preferred) + Degree in tax, accounting, finance, or business + Experience in preparing/reviewing US GAAP tax provisions. + Self-directed and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks + Excellent communication skills (both written & oral) and interpersonal skills needed to interact with other team members and departments (Accounting, FPA, Treasury, Engineering, etc.) + Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills + Proficient in the use of MS office products; SAP or similar; Power Plan and Power Tax exposure preferred; Hyperion smart-view preferred Our purpose is sustaining energy and water for life, and it is demonstrated in everything we do as a business and as an employee team.
