Analyst Sr, Regulatory

This position provides support to the regulatory affairs department in day-to-day responsibilities as well as rate case management and strategic initiatives.  This role will manage compliance and reconciliation filings, manage rate case and other filing data request processes, conduct analysis for regulatory matters and legislative proposals, research, track and complete internal management updates, and engage with ICC Staff on daily matters. 

Functional Expertise:

Manage the discovery review process for regulatory filings and rate cases.  Project manage regulatory filings and initiatives working cross-functionally to secure information and/or supporting other regulatory team members  Conduct industry related research and financial data analysis as needed to support regulatory initiatives and filings.  Research may be IL admin code specific, industry related regulatory filings, or financial analysis. Assists in the drafting and coordination of witness testimony for regulatory filings  Manages the on-line filing system of regulatory filings and information, and electronic filing/case management database. Conducts internal reporting of on-going regulatory activity and maintains the calendar for the Regulatory Affairs team.

Business Acumen:

Proven ability to independently manage, plan, organize and prioritize detailed aspects of several projects/issues simultaneously  Analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to work with financial reports, track financial data, and evaluate metrics.  High organized and detail oriented.  Knowledge of utility rate regulation. Energy industry experience

Provides high-level support to the regulatory affairs team to ensure timely and accurate filing of matters and compliance with regulatory orders. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communicate skills.  Optimizes project flows by identifying process improvements and implementing changes.
 

Qualifications

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Required:  

B.S./B.A. Business/Business Administration or other bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience  

 

Related Work Experience

Required:  

1 to 2 years conducting data analysis, coordinating projects or related program management. 

Preferred:  

1 to 2 years of experience professional experience in rates, accounting, finance, operations, government affairs, community affairs or regulatory arena preferably in the energy sector. 

 

Specific Skills& Knowledge:

Required:  

High proficiency at MS Word, SharePoint, MS Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Infrequent Traveler (0-5% travel): The incumbent may be required to travel on a very limited basis to the Public Service Commission or for other related meetings.  Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
