Feel free to enrich both your personal and work life and hop on board! **Why you'll love this job** **Job Requisition: Product Owner – Payments Domain **Position: Product Owner - Payments Domain **Location: Phoenix, AZ, USA **Job Type: Full-time + This job is a member of the Payments Automation Team within the Finance Division. + ​Responsible for assisting the Payments Accounting Automation team with assessing impacts for Internal and External projects, understanding business needs and writing user stories to effectively communicate the business needs. This role requires technical aptitude and business insight as well as the ability to work with diverse teams. + The Analyst/Senior Analyst is expected to become a liaison with multiple areas, adapt and work in a rapidly changing environment and relate Revenue accounting system processes with business objectives. **What you'll do** + Ensure alignment with the overarching product vision, roadmap, and strategic objectives set by the Payment Strategy leadership within the context of our system modernization initiative. + Adept in the development of strategic roadmaps for modernizing a payments backend application, review architectural decisions, database design, and performance optimization to deliver innovative and scalable product solutions. + Define and prioritize features and user stories based on business value, technical feasibility, and user impact, balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic objectives. + Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Payments IT, Digital, Ticketing, Merchandising and Payment Partners, to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure alignment on product direction. + Utilize data-driven processes to groom user stories and prioritize features based on business value, technical feasibility, and user impact. Leverage analytics tools to track and analyze user behavior, conversion rates, and payment processing metrics, driving continuous improvement and optimization. + Define and implement an API strategy for our payment services, facilitating seamless integration with internal systems, external partners, and third-party applications. + Leverage business intelligence tools and query tools to extract insights from payment data, identify opportunities for optimization, and inform product decisions. + Collaborate with internal teams and external payment partners to quickly identify and resolve issues, minimizing impact on customers and Payments Services operations. + Collaborate with Payment Strategy and partners to ensure seamless integration of payment solutions, compliance with industry standards, and adherence to regulatory requirements. + Work closely with agile development teams to translate requirements into user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria, ensuring clear communication and alignment on product goals. + Collaborate with QA teams to ensure the timely and accurate testing of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements, maintaining a high level of Payments services quality and reliability. **All you'll need for success** **Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + ​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field, or 3+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst/Business Analyst working with IT + Experience working in a cross-functional environment **Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + Experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in the airline or travel industry, with a focus on Payments Domain Products. + Strong understanding of payment technologies, including credit card processing, e-commerce platforms, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods. + Experience working in an agile development environment, with proficiency in agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Rally). + Experience with business intelligence tools and query tools (e.g., SQL, PostGres) to extract insights from payment data and inform product decisions. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivering results and driving continuous improvement. + Knowledge of regulatory requirements and security standards related to payment processing (e.g., PCI-DSS) is a plus. **Skills, Licenses & Certifications** + ​Strong project management skills + Strong organizational skills + Ability to work under a constantly changing environment and meet tight deadlines + Ability to work independently **What you'll get** Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: + Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
