The Position
This position supports analytical input into the development and implementation of a world-class Pricing and Contracting strategy. This includes contributions to deal development, new product pricing and strategic pricing projects, execution of list and net pricing strategies, and monitoring and evaluation of contract performance for all customer segments (e.g., Managed Care, Non-Federal Hospitals, Long-Term Care, Medicare Part D, Medicaid (FFS & MM), Exchanges and Federal), including but not limited to Obesity, Diabetes, and Rare Disease products.
Relationships
The position reports directly to a Lead in Strategic Pricing and Contracting and provides analytical support to their account based vertical team. The position will interact with a number of internal stakeholders across Strategic Pricing and Contracting, Government Pricing, Rebate Operations and Assurance, and Market Access Strategy and Account teams.
Essential Functions
Contributes to scenario impact models on pricing, profitability within key channels, contract execution Assists with analysis of net contract sales, market share, and contract pricing for the U.S. Assists with financial analysis quantifying the expected performance and profitability of contracts for in-line products On an ad hoc basis, develops reports that monitor and evaluate market access performance at customer level Provides ad hoc analyses as required. Supports contract managers on execution of agreements Supports business and analytical expertise in the development of tools and methods that will result in more accurate customer profitability assessment and decision-making and contracting Supports contract execution profitability forecasting. Contributes to continuous improvement of methodologies by measuring forecast versus actual results and benchmarking against industry practices Supports the Strategic Pricing and Contract Managers with the development and implementation of the Market Access strategy through financial modeling for deal evaluation and creation of analytical deliverables to contract execution Collaborates with other internal groups to ensure proper pricing and product information is being used
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week onsite in Plainsboro, NJ.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience (i.e. relevant professional, internship and or Co-op experience) is required An advanced/Master’s degree in relevant field of study may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience when appropriate. A minimum of 4 years relevant experience may be substituted for a degree when appropriate A strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required Must have strong attention to detail with an ability to solve data problems Must have the ability to interact with various departments and levels internally Must have the ability to perform analysis; identify trends and insights; and translate into actionable insights (analytical, quantitative, and qualitative) Ability to ensure quality and validity of data and resolve data problems as necessary Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to execute analysis in support of decision-making and planning Pharmaceutical experience preferred
