POSITION PURPOSE Represents a proficient consultant providing subject matter knowledge supporting Total Rewards Benefits and Well-being, its Center of Expertise (CoE) Leaders, Leaders from other CoEs, HR Business Partners and the HR Service Center in the design, development and delivery of Total Rewards Benefits and Well-being programs and services. Advises executives, managers and colleagues on Total Rewards program, policies and procedures. Work activities include managing single large or multiple small to medium size projects or initiatives. Completes and analyzes benefit program comparisons, evaluations and market analysis. Responds to and completes multiple, varied and technically diverse assignments. Provides specialized, consultative analytical support in the planning, defining and validating of functional area programs, including strategy, philosophy and policy development and in the design, development, review and modification of component-specific program plans, policies and procedures. Supports the development of and dissemination of benefits and well-being related communication materials or trainings; conducts compliance, program or process audits; performs evaluative analysis of programs and their impacts; and participates in organization-wide benefits and well-being or HR-sponsored special projects or initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
2. Provides technical benefit subject matter expertise and consultative analytical support in the planning, defining and validating of program-specific philosophy, strategy and approach. Develops, explains and disseminates related communication materials. Engages colleagues in group presentations/seminars on programs, policies, changes or issues.
3. Leads benefit and well-being related projects or program initiatives by establishing project objectives, timelines, key deliverables, facilitates meetings and deliverables with key stakeholders and provides status updates to leaders.
4. Develops structure and process for benchmarking and comparative analysis. Completes and / or analyzes comparative summaries to identify opportunity and related recommendations. Develops protocol for program and process changes. Identifies program and process opportunities based on internal and external data.
5. Collaborates with leadership on the establishment of key performance indicators. Participates in measuring program effectiveness and service delivery efficiency. Responsible for development of ongoing reporting of key performance indicators and monitors and identifies opportunities and related recommendations or notifications.
6. Responsible for daily vendor relationships and related service level agreements. Develops and manages ongoing opportunities list and related deliverables. Initiates service provider contract review
7. Performs annual planning activities including the establishment of the annual benefits and well-being budget, program and vendor reviews, development of illustrative rates and annual benefit and well-being communications.
8. Responsible for annual compliance activities including but not limited to: ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures; researching changing requirements, impact and related recommendations. Responsible for maintaining plan documents and related documentation of program requirements.
9. Assists in measuring and analyzing Total Rewards program and policy impact, return on investment and operational effectiveness.
10. Performs other duties as needed and assigned by Manager.
11. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources, as normally obtained through a Bachelor's degree in a field requiring analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Five (5) to seven (7) years progressively more responsible benefits and well-being related experience and considerable in-depth knowledge of benefit and well-being program strategy and/or leave administration, program financial, utilization and trend analysis, and vendor and contract management. Healthcare and multi-state/multi-site experience preferred.
2. Considerable and in-depth knowledge and application of benefits and well-being laws and regulations (e.g., Section 125, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA).
3. Ability to respond to variable situations requiring analytical, interpretative, evaluative and constructive thinking abilities. In depth experience with financial, clinical and utilization trends related to payers, employers and health plans; Strong logical and deductive reasoning abilities.
4. Substantial analytical and problem-solving skills in order to independently evaluate and develop innovative solutions to complex situations while applying extensive Total Rewards experience.
5. Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills and oral presentation skills in order to interpret, explain, discuss and present technical and somewhat complex information. Ability to coach, mentor and provide guidance to lower level colleagues. Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills and ability to manage and complete work in an efficient and thorough manner. 6. Proficiency in software programs including Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills in order to develop and maintain spreadsheets and perform data analysis. Familiarity with Workday preferred.
7. Must be discrete and maintain the highest confidentiality with extremely sensitive data.
8. Ability to support a change management and process improvement work environment. Seeks innovative ways to deliver higher value programs and services more efficiently and effective.
