Analyst - Vendor Compliance & Enablement

POSITION TITLE:  Analyst, Vendor Compliance and Enablement 

REPORTS TO:  Supervisor, Vendor Compliance      

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is accountable for ownership of the setup, onboarding and compliance process with our merchandise and non merchandise suppliers by collaborating with internal and external partners for all entities under American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.   The team member will be responsible for proactively and independently recognizing, assessing and documenting vendor adherence to company requirements as well as coach and educate suppliers how to do business within AEO Inc. guidelines.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Supplier Set up and Vendor Relations

Ownership of set ups in the Vendor Set up portal and PLM for all supplier types and work with internal and external partners to ensure accuracy of information, which includes but is not limited to new vendor set ups, maintaining vendor records, and China records.  Oversight and approval for certain terms and conditions and Master Purchase Agreements (MPA) amendments to streamline the set up process. Primary point person for new vendors and internal support of the set up process.  Onboard new vendors, including facilitating Corporate Vendor Manual Overviews and initiating training on key processes related to PLM system and vendor onboarding. Post set up, support merchandise vendors to resolve inquiries and/or direct them to the correct resource.  Analyze common vendor inquiries and determine trends to drive process improvements and training initiatives.  Support merchandise vendors from beginning to end of AEO processes.  Act as liaison between Vendor and AEO business to ensure the timely processes of AEO goods with reduced friction. Identify and address areas of vendor non-compliance to standards that affect business results, communicate and publish cost and time effects to the business.  Develop and implement action plans based on analysis of chargebacks and provide recommendations on business and process improvement opportunities. Support vendor improvement and operational efficiencies within Supply Chain via vendor meetings, written communications or training support.    Collaborate with external and internal partners to identify and resolve operational and compliance issues including but not limited to vendor set up, packaging, barcode labels, polybags, tickets, packing list and carton markings.  Review compliance practices and procedures; determine improvements and work to implement changes as appropriate by bringing solutions and ideas forward to management. Support the efforts to ensure supply chain efficiencies and aid vendors in pre and post shipment requirements.  Develop and/or maintain Standard Operating Procedures as needed but no less than twice yearly.  Utilize a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as production, merchandising, finance and operations, to drive the performance of strategic vendor partners.  Working collaboratively with the Global Supply Chain key partner to assess vendor performance and communicate results to the business.  Support updates of the Corporate Vendor Manual (CVM). Collaborate with internal partners to ensure  CVM updates are made timely in order to reduce friction in the supply chain by having the most up to date process and information available to AEO’s supplier base for to support the goal of operational excellence. 

Additional Responsibilities

The ability to travel as needed. Coach and train internal and external partners on business process changes, provide engaging training in a variety of formats to ensure learning is optimized.  Represent AEO with integrity in all situations.  Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field. Vendor compliance experience preferred. 1-3 years’ experience in supply chain operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify trends within large data sets and make recommendations based on data analysis.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to explain processes and problems and arrive at workable solutions. Collaborative in nature with the ability to work cross functionally.  Self-motivated and driven to meet tight deadlines. Highly organized and efficient with strong attention to detail; strong record of timely, consistent follow-through on all assigned responsibilities.

 

PAY/BENEFITS INFORMATION: Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
