The National and Defense Intelligence Innovation Department is seeking a highly motivated Project Lead (PL) to lead and design, prototype and advance Analytic Capability, define approaches to integrate analytics and data across Intelligence Agencies, and lead a team defining Acquisition approaches and Contracts to advance Analytic Innovation. The successful candidate will lead a cross-MITRE team with expertise in computer science, data science, geospatial analysis and DevOps; as well as team members with the ability to define Acquisition and Contracting approaches to meet requirements and improve acquisition practices.
The Department develops creative solutions to evolve complex, mission essential capabilities, bringing expertise in developing analytic solutions, data science, and acquisition, workforce and business process maturation. We define, architect, design and prototype creative ways to integrate and fuse all-source intelligence and new sources of data to empower analysts and inform the programmatic and technical direction of new and existing programs.
The Department develops unique ways to receive and integrate all-source intelligence, increase sharing of tactical and strategic intelligence, support situational awareness and specific missions, and create products that are more useful customers that include the Combatant Command J2s. This work requires a comprehensive understanding of IC analysts’ capabilities, and the ability to propose methods that allow the customers to acquire, integrate and manage their investment as a portfolio.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Domain and Technical Expertise: Demonstrate strong skill in 2 or more of the following areas;Lead Developers, Data Scientists and Geospatial experts to deliver analyticsStrong Software Engineering and Development ExpertiseStrong Data Science expertiseGeospatial analysis expertiseExperience developing, prototyping analytic capability and transition to production Knowledge of All Source Analysis tradecraft and Foundational IntelligenceStrategic LeadershipWork closely with government senior leaders to shape the direction of the program and define MITRE’s roles, as integrator, developer, systems engineer, and acquisition and contracting to meet the needs of analytic development, prototyping, testing and operationalizingEfficiently and effectively lead core project management functions including business and financial management and direct technical work in alignment with MITRE norms to ensure project obligations (deliverables, schedules, budgets) are met. Ability to modify plans and actions as the sponsor priorities shift. Understand and leverage the strengths of others through effective reach-back and bring the right talent forward to execute at the right time.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.Demonstrated Technical leadershipAbility to lead and contribute to a highly skilled team leveraging the following skills to deliver analytic capabity to the customer. Current TS/SCI clearance with the ability to maintain a polygraphMinimum of ten years of experience leading and providing significant, impactful capabilities and data driven solutions to the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community advancing intelligence analysis. This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.Preferred Qualifications:
