Job Overview: Aptim Federal Services, LLC (APTIM) has an opening for an analytical chemist to conduct chemical analyses for environmental R&D projects at the USEPA Test and Evaluation (T&E) Facility in Cincinnati, OH. What you can expect from APTIM: * Work that is worthy of your time and talent * Respect and flexibility to live a full life at work and at home * Dogged determination to deliver for our clients and communities * A voice in making our company better * Investment into your personal and professional development Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: * Develop various instrumental methods and analyze various sample matrices following the standard/published method/standard operating procedures (SOPs) using analytical techniques and instruments including, but not limited to, the following: * Gas Chromatography (GC-FID/ECD/NPD/TCD/P&T) * Ion Chromatography (IC) * High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) * Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) * Atomic Absorption (AA) * Total Organic Carbon (TOC) * UV-VIS Spectrometry * Wet Chemistry and Extractions * Compile analytical data and perform initial data verification per the method/SOP QA/QC requirements. * Validate analytical instrument data generated by peers and other commercial laboratories. * Perform analytical instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. * Assist with bench-, pilot-, and field-scale R&D evaluations related to treatment of drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater. * Compile method/SOP define quality controls (QCs) and assist with developing quality assurance project plans (QAPPs) and health and safety plans (HASPs) for investigative field and laboratory studies. * Maintain paper/electronic laboratory notebooks and document analyses consistent with EPA policies and procedures. * Analyze data and generate written reports of high quality and suitable for journal articles. * Prepare and make oral presentations.
