We are seeking a highly skilled Analytical Chemist with extensive experience in Gas Chromatography (GC). This role involves leading Measurement Capability Analysis (MCA) projects, performing statistical analyses, optimizing existing methods, and troubleshooting/re-calibrating GC instruments. The successful candidate will contribute to the lab's efficiency and productivity by testing chemical components of various gases stored in canisters and handling other lab-related tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Lead MCA projects including taking samples for short-term stability tests and performing gas dilutions to achieve a linear curve.
+ Conduct accuracy studies, Method Detection Limits (MDLs), gage R&R, and run correlations.
+ Perform statistical analyses on existing methods to optimize and troubleshoot/re-calibrate GC instruments.
+ Test chemical components of various gases stored in canisters.
+ Physically move gas tanks as needed.
+ Operate and troubleshoot GC instruments, including fixing tubing and sample loops.
+ Develop and validate methods using OpenLab software.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience in Gas Chromatography (GC).
+ Strong background in Analytical Chemistry, Method Validation, and Method Development.
+ Proficiency in MCA, stability testing, and chromatography.
+ Experience with statistical analysis, linearity, accuracy studies, MDL, gage R&R, and correlation studies.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
+ Knowledge of OpenLab software for method development and acquisition.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Science is required.
+ Self-sufficient, proactive, and a self-starter.
+ Experience in a warehouse lab or open lab environment is preferred.
+ Experience working with gases rather than chemicals is a plus.
Work Environment
The work environment is an open-air lab that may be dirtier and more grassroots compared to traditional clean labs. The role involves working with gas tanks. The shift schedule for the first 6 months is from 6 am to 4 pm Monday through Thursday, and 9 am to 1 pm on Friday. For the second 6 months, the shift is from 3 pm to 12 am Monday through Thursday, and 9 am to 1 pm on Friday.
