Job Title: Analytical ChemistJob Description
The Analytical Chemist will support the development of new commercial animal health products for companion animals.
Responsibilities
+ Perform analytical testing including HPLC, UPLC, Dissolution, and other chromatographic methods.
+ Conduct a variety of wet chemistry and physical property testing for QC of samples including pH, loss on drying, sulfated ash, titrations, TLC, etc.
+ Prepare samples of raw material, intermediate, and finished product samples for analytical testing.
+ Log and document samples according to GMP guidelines.
+ Perform stability testing following established protocols.
+ Dispose of samples and perform lab clean-up duties as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Strong experience with HPLC or UPLC (Agilent systems are a huge plus).
+ Experience with either Quality by Design (QbD) or Design of Experiments (DoE) methodology.
+ Ability to follow protocols and run experiments independently.
+ Experience in a GMP environment.
+ 1+ years (ideally 3-5 years) of industry experience with Analytical R&D or QC.
+ HPLC experience is required and Dissolution experience is strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Statistical analysis experience is a plus.
+ Pharmaceutical industry experience is strongly preferred.
+ BS or MS Degree in Chemistry or related field.
Work Environment
The position is based in an R&D Analytical Lab environment, working with a team of 6 analytical team members, plus a supervisor and manager. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a variation of +/- 2 hours. There is a possibility for staggered shifts to help with coverage and space constraints, with the latest start time being 12:00 PM and working until 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The team culture is diverse, interactive, and collaborative, with a focus on critical thinking and challenging the status quo to solve problems. The environment is highly compliant, requiring accurate documentation for late-stage product development projects. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
