Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Job Description

The Analytical Chemist will support the development of new commercial animal health products for companion animals and manage their own Analytical Development projects, primarily focused on oral solid doses. The role involves writing protocols, generating reports, interpreting data, and performing analytical testing to advance product development projects.

ResponsibilitiesPerform analytical testing including HPLC, UPLC, Dissolution, and other chromatographic methods.Conduct a variety of wet chemistry and physical property testing for QC of samples including pH, sulfated ash, titrations, TLC, etc.Prepare raw material, intermediate, and finished product samples for analytical testing, including sample logging and documentation according to GMP guidelines.Perform stability testing following established protocols.Dispose of samples and perform lab clean-up duties as required.Support routine testing workload in the Analytical R&D Lab when not focused on own projects.Essential SkillsStrong experience with HPLC or UPLC (preferably Agilent systems).Experience with Quality by Design (QbD) or Design of Experiments (DoE) methodology.Ability to write protocols, design experiments, and operate independently.Experience in dissolution and method validation.GMP experience in a pharmaceutical environment.5+ years of industry experience with Analytical R&D or QC.Additional Skills & QualificationsStatistical analysis skills.Ownership of projects.MS Degree in a related field.Experience with Waters instrumentation is not desirable.Work Environment

Work in an R&D Analytical Lab environment with 6 Analytical team members, a supervisor, and a manager. The shift is Monday through Friday, with flexible start and end times between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or some variation +/- 2 hours. A later start time, up to 12:00 PM, with work extending until 6:00-8:00 PM is a bonus to help stagger coverage and space constraints. The team is diverse, interactive, and collaborative, with a culture of critical thinking and challenging the status quo to solve problems. The environment is highly compliant, with late-stage product development projects requiring accurate documentation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
