The Program

Mallinckrodt is offering an 11-week internship program, which provides an immersive experience in the world of pharmaceuticals. As an MNK Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful and impactful work that compliments the degree you are pursuing. Here, you will be able to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to a corporate environment. In addition, our internship program is designed to include networking opportunities across the company, professional development workshops, and community service.

Summary of Position

The Analytical Chemist I Intern position will work with Mallinckrodt’s API Development & Support analytical chromatography team.

Responsibilities

Validate and update analytical methods using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) or Gas Chromatography (GC), by executing laboratory experiments as directed in written protocols following ICH, USP and EP guidelines. Working effectively with API Dev & Support team members, documenting experiments, conditions, observations and results in a laboratory notebookCompliance with company, site and safety policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Education / Experience / Skills:

Completion of some coursework toward a degree in chemistry and the ability to wear appropriate PPE and safely handle chemicals, glassware and laboratory equipment are required.Hands-on laboratory experience and working knowledge in analytical chemistry are preferred. The role will involve typical laboratory conditions where chemists are required to wear eye protection and lab coats; might potentially handle hazardous chemicals requiring the use of additional PPE; and might occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

Relationship with Others/Scope of Position

This position will actively interact with the API Development & Support team at the St. Louis plant location.
