What You’ll Do

As an Analytical Laboratory Chemist, you will participate in product development, manufacturing support, and cost improvement projects. You will be responsible for evaluating energetic and other materials to determine their
conformance with manufacturing raw material specifications. Other duties include:

Evaluate energetic and other materials in support of Marketing and Manufacturing forensic analysis. Evaluate energetic and other materials in support of Research activities. Plan, execute and report on experimental activities. Develop, implement, and maintain workflow management and reporting processes that track key operational performance measures (project deliverables, HSE, financial benefits, etc.) Track performance against milestones, goals, and objectives Be the custodian of workflow information and project reporting Provide technical input and assistance as needed with all projects conducted at the Simsbury Site Direct scientific projects and business support episodes as required for new and existing business Provide input and development ideas for data tracking of project information, and filling out R&D project pipeline 

 

What We’re Looking For:

B.S. degree in science or chemistry. 5+ years' of direct experience preferred. Knowledge of energetic material properties, laboratory analytical methods, test methods, report writing, and safety culture is preferred.  Experience in the development and tracking of projects, including scheduling, and reporting of R&D support episodes and projects Ability to present and communicate scientific results and proposals as required for position. Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives. Must be at least 21 years of age. Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
