Science & Innovation Core Analytical Sciences (S&I CAS) Group at Wilmington, DE, is seeking a talented Analytical Scientist to provide Separation/Mass Spectrometry solutions for DuPont.

The candidate will be expected to work as part of cross-functional teams in support of R&D, Customer Support, Manufacturing, and Quality. This exciting position will focus on the use of trace level quantitative mass spectrometry to solve important problems and develop next generation technology solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate cross-functionally on technical projects.Develop, implement, and execute methods for new materials/products.Prepare and maintain high-quality technical documents including analytical test procedures, method development reports, and technical findings.Focus on using separations mass spectrometry techniques such as trace level quantitative liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (e.g., LC/MS/MS) and sample preparation procedures (e.g., solid phase extraction, SPE) to solve analytical problems.Maintain and troubleshoot complex analytical equipment and use quality control checks to ensure accurate results.Incorporate and analyze analytical data from a variety of sources to creatively solve complex technical problems.Effectively communicate results to stakeholders and other interested partiesPartner closely with global technical experts and leverage technical expertise/specialty.Train and coach other associates and scientists to facilitate knowledge exchange.Fulfill all requirements of group, site, and company safety, ethics, and quality programs.Technical project leadership including analytical methodology as well as influencing product development.

Qualifications:

MS in Analytical Chemistry with >5 years of experience and a focus on Separations and Mass Spectrometry; Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with >3 years of experience and a focus on Separations and Mass SpectrometryIn-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with a variety of small molecule, oligomer, and/or polymer characterization techniques (e.g., separation techniques such as LC, GC, GPC, GPEC, IC and mass spectrometry), most preferably LC/MS/MS.

Preferred Qualifications:

Analytical skills in a variety of molecular structure characterization techniquesAbility to develop scientific approaches to solve complex technical problems.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to quickly and effectively build relationships with the global team.Prior experience with AB Sciex QTRAP mass spectrometers or similar equipment from other vendorsSelf-motivated, hard-working, detail-oriented individual able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
