Role description:

The Analytics Consultant is responsible for leading (and overseeing) technical delivery across multiple projects. The Analytics Consultant will provide expertise in the implementation of Analytics Solutions for our customers. 

The Analytics Consultant will manage projects and may be a coach to other Junior Analytics Consultants and Junior Data Scientists within the Data & Decision Science group. They will communicate with clients throughout the project lifecycle, including demonstrations, requirements gathering, results presentation and training. 

The Analytics Consultant will also work closely with other teams, including a close collaboration within Solutions and Product & Technology teams. You will interface with the wider business to provide guidance on future solutions and provide technical input on analytics solutions and products.

Role accountabilities:

Driving quality and innovation within Analytics solutions, identifying and disseminating best practice in terms of approaches and tooling. Manage the delivery of analytical projects to clients ensuring assigned projects are delivered on time, within budget, to high quality and in accordance with project scope. Develop strong and trusted relationships with client representatives driven by track record and credibility. Act as analytics solution architect, ensuring that the design fully meets the client’s needs and wherever possible has the potential to be offered to other clients with minimal re-work to maximise future revenue. Manage outputs and quality throughout delivery of a project ensuring all work packages align to the project scope. Peer review of reports and code produced by colleagues. Provide support for business development including: Delivery of technical sales support including software demonstrations. Writing proposals for client projects & scope changes and convert them to sales. Identifying opportunities to generate additional revenue and develop new revenue streams. Ensure the services and software delivered fully meets client expectations and delivers value in terms of realisation of business benefits.

Qualifications & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a background in solution deployment and analytics consultancy, ideally within a physical asset owning company context. They will have good communication and organisational skills. They will have a strong understanding of advanced analytics techniques such as optimisation and general numerical modelling. A keen interest in the latest technologies is important, to help ensure that the product stays on the cutting edge. 

More importantly than these technical skills, however, we are looking for someone to be an analytics leader, pushing forward the boundaries of what we do, and the standards expected of the wider analytics team. The successful candidate will need to be resilient and maintain a positive attitude when faced with challenges, be an excellent problem-solver, and be happy to be out of their comfort zone. They will need to have excellent communication skills, not just at a technical level, but also with more business-focused colleagues. They will not shy away from a challenge and will stand up and be counted. They will never be satisfied, and always look to find the next improvements. 

Experience of delivery of analytical projects in a consultancy environment. An effective communicator who is credible, confident and articulate.  Able to communicate complex technical detail to non-technical audiences.  Demonstrable skills in data collection and interpretation. Understanding of investment models, assets and systems of assets, understanding of Optimisation (linear & non-linear), Prioritisation and Monte Carlo analysis. Experience of working for a large asset owning company, or on projects for such companies, would be advantageous.  Experience in advanced data visualisation techniques along with tools such as Qlik, Power BI and open source visualisation tools Sensitivity and scenario analysis of analytical models. Mathematical and statistical analysis and modelling skills.  Proven ability in presenting methodologies and results to all levels in a business environment. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organisational skills. You have experience coaching other technology professionals at various levels You have experience working with professional coding technologies such as Git. You have experience of waterfall and Agile methodologies and within Agile understand the differences between Scrum, SAFe, KanBan including their context and application

The salary range for this position is $110k - $130k. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
