Analytics Project Manager

Tuvli, an Akima company, is hiring for an Analytics Project Manager to support our DoS client located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

Provide quantitative analytical expertise to support country/regional-level analysis informing foreign assistance under the Strategy.

Work closely with CSO’s Office of Advanced Analytics (AA) and country/region-level analysis teams to coordinate the development of quantitative analysis products, identify data sources, and harmonize quantitative and qualitative analysis inputs into ten-year plans and subsequent updates to inform SPCPS implementation.

Monitor local, regional, and global trends in conflict and instability indicators to ensure tenyear plans and subsequent updates are based on the best available information; highlight assumptions and context that should be monitored regularly due to a high probability of changes that might affect diplomatic engagement foreign assistance, and security sector cooperation and assistance (e.g., in the case of a rapidly evolving conflict or regional political disruptions, such as upcoming elections); and propose related high-priority data gaps to be addressed.

Ensure the conflict analyses informing SPCPS implementation decisions are founded on solid assumptions and not suffering from significant errors of causal identification. This may involve the development of formal logic models.

Provide regular updates to, and as needed, request support from State/CSO/AA,

USAID/Office of Conflict Prevention and Stabilization (CPS), the intelligence community, and other quantitative analysis experts from the interagency.

Liaise with appropriate interagency contacts to ensure appropriate collaboration of analytical processes and products.

Travel to SPCPS Posts or to meet with international partners (including host nation, other donors, and civil society organizations) as necessary in support of these tasks.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in international relations, political science, or other social sciences with a background in quantitative analysis.

General familiarity with the theories, policies, and practices of conflict prevention and stabilization in fragile states, and the major relevant bilateral, multilateral, and nongovernmental partners of the USG.

Knowledge of U.S diplomatic engagement, foreign assistance, and security cooperation and assistance processes, policies, and programs.

Experience applying empirical methods to understand drivers and factors in relation to conflict, political instability, and/or violent extremism.

Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and appropriate applications.

Experience using statistical and geographic information systems (i.e., STATA, SPSS, R, Python, Java, Agent Based Modeling Tools, Social Network Analysis Tools, ArcGIS, Tableau, or SQL).

Experience communicating analytical findings to senior leadership.

Ability to work collaboratively with interagency partners and manage analytical workflows.

Ability and availability to travel to fragile and conflict-affected states.

Active Top-Secret clearance.

Pay Range

118,000 - 120,000
