Summary:
The Analytics Solution Developer is responsible for the development of solutions and tools for data collection management analysis and reporting which supports evidence-based medicine performance improvement clinical quality population health financial performance revenue cycle and the core strategic goals of Brown University Health and Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care. The Analytics Solution Developer will work on multiple data related projects to perform complex analyses and ensure that end users receive timely and accurate reports.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for data collection reporting and analysis
Identifies recommends and implements changes that will: support clinical practice positively impact the revenue cycle streamline and automate data flows help to operate according to industry benchmarks and best practices track operational efficiency and meet performance goals.
Synthesizes and communicates information in an efficient and comprehensible manner so that leadership and management can make informed data-driven decisions
Responsible for creating professional reports and presentations that provide quality information throughout the organization.
Collects and analyzes data specific to improvement projects and uses data to measure processes and outcomes identify variation from accepted standards of practice and define patterns and trends.
Prepares standard and customized reports develops and maintains dashboards and coordinates requests improvements and fixes with end users.
Extracts transforms and loads data. Manages processes for clinical operational and financial data that meet operational reporting requirements.
Designs codes tests troubleshoots documents and maintains various reports and programs
Ensures the accuracy validity and timeliness of all work.
Identifies and implements technical solutions where efficiencies may be gained through automation
Develops Key Performance Indicators to support the quality improvement strategic objectives of the organization.
Performs complex statistical and longitudinal analyses of clinical and financial data
Implements analytics solutions which enable and enhance the distribution and operationalization of clinical and financial data
Provides end-user training support materials and consultation to ensure optimal adoption of analytics solutions throughout the organization
Serves as a support resource for data analytics and mentors all team members.
Presents demonstrations provides assistance and educates staff on data reporting and related analytics projects
Works with other Brown University Health teams and 3rd party vendors to enhance systems optimize performance address issues and deploy new solutions to enable data transfer data modeling data integration and data presentation and exploration
Develops and maintains documentation to facilitate knowledge management and ensure continuity of data products deployed by the department and throughout the organization.
Systematically audits and monitors system performance in order to improve data quality. Proactively evaluates and validates data and identifies root cause threats to data integrity
Monitors and makes suggestions to improve best practices and their integration into existing systems
Leads or participates in key improvement initiatives.
Leads data analytics projects from inception to deployment
Monitors and makes suggestions to improve best practices and their integration into existing operational workflows
Leads or participates in system-wide improvement teams using various performance improvement methodologies (e.g. DMAIC methodologies six sigma team leadership root cause analysis FMEA).
Meets regularly with the team members and external analytics customers to define needs and to understand business requirements
Creates and maintains technical specifications change-management and testing documentation for new analytics solutions.
Participates in code review and provides mentoring to other analysts in support of ongoing development
Works closely with Brown University Health's Information Services Business Intelligence team and other analytics teams across the organization to ensure the efficient and secure exchange of all data needed to facilitate integrated enterprise analytics solutions.
Identifies and communicates system issues and proposes alternatives and solutions to information services management.
Establishes development schedules and ensures schedule is executed as defined.
Adheres to Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care guidelines and policies for protecting patients� demographic clinical and financial information
Complies with federal and local confidentiality laws including HIPAA ensuring patient privacy
Ensures confidentiality and privacy are maintained using industry standard tools protocols and best practices.
Participates on committees and work groups as assigned
Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION:
Bachelor�s Degree in Data Science Computer Science Information Systems Business Finance Accounting Mathematics or a related Healthcare Field (with demonstrable technical experience) or equivalent is required.
Master�s degree is preferred.
Epic certification required. (e.g. Epic Cogito Clarity Caboodle)
Project Management certification (e.g. Six Sigma PMP Lean) or 3+ years equivalent experience managing projects complex development and/or data processes
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5-years experience with Epic or other Electronic Healthcare Records
3-5 years of experience managing analytics solution projects including development of Clarity reports and datasets proficient use of data processing tools (SSIS Python) to automate data extraction transformation and load procedures and integrated analytics solutions within a data visualization platform (such as Power BI Tableau Qlik TIBCO Spotfire etc..).
Strong analytical systems-thinking project management and facilitation skills aimed at performance improvement.
Expertise with cloud-based analytics and/or AI/ML with an advanced level of knowledge in data analytics emerging technologies and best practices.
Expertise in developing complex data visualizations within industry-standard applications such as Power BI or Tableau.
Expertise in PowerBI Alteryx SAS or other analytics applications.
Expertise with Python Visual Basic Java or other programming languages.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (e.g. Excel Word Sharepoint/Teams Visio)
Highly skilled in the use of information technology.
Experience in group facilitation project management and providing training to users at all levels is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical practice terminology.
Demonstrated proficiency with SQL
Solid listening oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational time management and multitasking skills.
Ability to work in a team-based atmosphere offering the highest level of customer service.
Strong understanding of HIPAA and HITECH regulations.
