Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Anatomic Pathologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. The Hospital is part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being Afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities Review and sign out surgical pathology biopsies, excision, and resection casesReview and sign out cytopathology casesPrioritize malignant cases and submit all first-time malignant cases for daily intradepartmental consensus conference for peer review and concordanceComplete cases in the required turnaround time (TAT) at Kings County HospitalParticipate in internal/external quality assurance, performance improvement activities and programs, and departmental meetings, and facility-wide training as neededInvolve in processing of surgical pathology service management and quality improvementInstruct residents on service of general surgical pathology and cytopathologyParticipate in other clinical activities as requested by service director Qualifications NY State Medical License Completion of an accredited residency/fellowship in Pathology1+ years of experience preferred - New graduating residents and fellows are encouraged to applyAP/CP Board Certified or Board Eligible
