Anatomic Pathology Assistant

Job Overview

This position carries the primary responsibility of performing frozen microtomy on surgical specimens obtained from various surgical facilities within TriHealth, including GSH, BN, Evendale, Anderson, Butler, and any additional facilities that may be added to the corporate network. In addition to frozen sections, this role involves assisting with cytology procedures at any or all of the TriHealth facilities listed above. Duties in cytology would include staining slides and/or preparing specimens for send-out.

Furthermore, the role requires assisting pathologists, pathologist assistants, and histotechnologists in all related duties within Surgical Pathology. The position also involves communicating with customers of TriHealth, serving as a laboratory liaison for a variety of TriHealth customers, gathering necessary data for service and billing, and completing paperwork in compliance with OIG regulations, which includes the accurate interpretation and transcription of physician orders and LIS/HIS order entry.

Work Hours

Full-time, 80 hours bi-weekly Day shift No weekends or holidays

Job Requirements

one-year post-high school education in Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, or Chemistry, OR  2 years of experience in pathology performing frozen microtomy and fine needle aspirate preparation (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree) 1-2 years of clinical experience in pathology
