BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As an Anchor/MMJ, you’ll build a vital connection between a story and your audience. From pitching stories to delivering engaging newscasts, your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of reporting and anchoring. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely, accurate, character-driven content to connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS

Required Qualifications

Experience: Television news anchoring - 3+ years, Television news reporting - 5+ yearsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field; or comparable television work experience Technical Skills: Video editing, still photography, social media marketingSkills: Reporting and anchoringAbilities: Managing multiple priorities effectively, lifting and carrying up to 30 poundsTravel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the communitySchedule: Work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies and able to work weekends and holidaysValid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a 24-hour news channel

Working Conditions

Works inside in a climate-controlled environment but may be assigned to field duties and be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions.
