Assists and anticipates needs of Anesthesiologist in invasive monitor insertion and procedures such as pulmonary artery catheter, central venous access, fiberoptic intubation and difficult airway situations per hospital policy. Demonstrates detailed technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability for anesthesia delivery systems, gas analyzer, EKG and pulse oximeter per manufacture guidelines. Prepares and assembles all necessary supplies and equipment for auto-transfusion and rapid infusion under the direction of the anesthesia provider. Maintains quality control records, cart inventories and audits per OSHA and TJC standards and hospital policies. Performs manufacturer recommended daily anesthesia machine checks according to Standard Work Document. Assists in preparation and draping of the patient for invasive monitoring procedures by the anesthesia care provider. Assists with the correct application of monitoring devices. Manages fluid and blood/blood product administration. Retrieves and delivers products to and from blood bank. Accompanies the anesthesia provider to the appropriate care unit. Transports medications from pharmacy or authorized location (e.g. pneumatic tube system) to licensed healthcare professional. May perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Education - High School or GED Experience - 1 Year Experience in a clinical environment Certification - BLS from AHA Upon Start Work Schedule - 36 Full-time Night 6:00PM to 6:00AM with Weekends
