Responsibilities:

Operate equipment used intraoperatively. Trains, mentors, and orients Anesthesia Associates or Anesthesia Students as needed Draw blood samples from existing intravascular lines. Maintain personal growth and development by participating in the in-service and continuing education programs. Maintain statistics as requested to support quality initiatives, reporting responsibilities, focus studies, and operational analysis. Input daily charging information into SMS for hospital technical billing purposes. Perform and evaluate thromboelastrographs (TEG). Operate rapid infusion pump system (RIS). Assist with the evaluation of new equipment and supplies. Adhere to UPMC policy when arranging for an evaluation Performs all responsibilities of Anesthesia Technician Participate in the department equipment management program according to program guidelines.
