Lee County Domestic Animal Services is seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team. This on-call position involves helping animals, assisting the public, and supporting pet adoptions when needed. What We’re Looking For: We need a positive, team-oriented person with strong communication skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks. Flexibility and the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment are key. Duties and Responsibilities + Customer Service: Guide customers through adoption, share pet care information, and address concerns with kindness and fairness. + Animal Care: Safely handle, feed, groom, and clean animals while assessing their behavior for adoption. + Administrative Support: Maintain records, schedule appointments, and assist with medical tasks and animal transportation. + Lost Pet Assistance: Help reunite lost pets with their owners and match pets with adopters. + Training & Support: Mentor new staff and assist with various shelter tasks. Education, Experience, Licensing + High School diploma or GED. + Animal handling experience is a plus, but not required. + Ability to earn Florida State Certification in Euthanasia (training provided). + Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Supplemental Information + Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physical tasks. + Flexible schedule, with shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM and rotating days off.
