Job Description
The purpose of the Animal Care Technician is to provide animal care for larger animals. The role requires comfort in working with animals, and experience working with animals is preferred. You will be working with swine, canine, and ovine.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for daily maintenance of animal health and husbandryFollow all SOPs and observe safety practicesClean all animal housing areas daily, some duties involve physical laborProvide enrichment to animals daily including exercise toys and social housingDisinfect each housing area weekly, including walls, flooring, and feed binsFeed all animals according to department SOPsMaintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the labResponsible for receipt of department deliveriesCommunicate all health status issues immediately to Veterinary StaffDocument all activities in animal records and forms daily using Good Documentation PracticesMay assist Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians as assigned by ManagerCommunicate any facility maintenance required to ManagerShow interest and willingness to help with team projectsBe a team player and ensure quality communicationEssential SkillsAnimal husbandryAnimal handlingAnimal cleaning
Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diplomaMinimum of 6 months of animal handling experienceMust be able to lift 30 pounds and will undergo a lift testPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
