Join us and reach your higher purpose at Cargill. **Job Purpose and Impact** The Animal Care Technician is primarily responsible for the execution of approved protocols for animal studies in a safe, accurate and timely fashion. In this role, you will conduct research trials, collect data that includes animal weight, feed information and various types of sample information. You will also be responsible for providing standard animal husbandry and housekeeping duties. **Key Accountabilities** + Maintain cleanliness and perform basic equipment troubleshooting for research equipment to ensure proper protocols requirements. + Contribute to continuous evaluation and improvement of experimental methodology, daily routines and procedures. + Maintain safe working conditions in accordance to our safety program and animal welfare standards and comply with animal policies. + Execute predefined protocols and standard operation procedures, like feeding, sample collection, animal observation, disease recognition, accurate data compilation, observations, deviations and trial quality measurement are in time and in scope. + Handle administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff. + Other duties as assigned \#LI-CF1 #fgb #themuse **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications** + High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent + Proficient computer skills + Minimum of four years of related work experience + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs + Ability to climb ladders and stairs + Ability to work weekends and 2 holidays per year **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience + Experience working with large animals, especially dairy cattle + Experience with skid steer, tractor and forklift **Position Information** + This position is located in Elk River, Minnesota + Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position + **Schedule:** Monday to Friday | 4 am - 12:30 PM + This position requires to work one weekend per month & 2 holidays per year Equal Opportunity Employer, including Disability/Vet.
