Animal Facility Manager

Summary: We are seeking an experienced Animal Facility Manager within the 511 vivarium building to oversee the daily operations of our animal care facility. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory standards, maintains the health and welfare of animals, and manages staff and resources efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal husbandry, facility management, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Oversee management and husbandry services for the Building 511 vivarium Direct daily husbandry and cage wash operations Ensure seamless vivarium operations and minimize disruptions Coordinate with VSP customers and research personnel Conduct staff training and ensure AALAS certifications are obtained Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of vivarium management and operations Leadership and team coordination skills Compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines Strong communication and organizational skills Minimum Qualifications: Certified Manager Animal Resources (CMAR) American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) level Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role in an animal research facility of similar size and scope. Ability to pass an employment background check Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $98,000 annually.
