Summary: We are seeking an experienced Animal Facility Manager within the 503 building to oversee the daily operations of our animal care facility. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory standards, maintains the health and welfare of animals, and manages staff and resources efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal husbandry, facility management, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Oversee the management and husbandry services for the animal care facilities Supervise husbandry and cage wash duties Coordinate vivarium activities to minimize research interruptions Provide technical support and ensure adherence to customer SOPs Conduct training programs and facilitate AALAS certification for employees Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with guidelines Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Strong leadership and team-building skills Knowledge of vivarium management and husbandry operations Strong verbal and written communication skills Minimum Qualifications: Certified Manager Animal Resources (CMAR) American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) level Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role in an animal research facility of similar size and scope. Experience in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Ability to pass an employment background check Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts Certified Manager Animal Resources (CMAR) Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $98,000 annually.
