Position Title: Animal Welfare Manager Department: Live Pork Location: Dalhart, TX (TX/CO Region) Salary Class: Salaried Reports to: EHS Director Purpose & Scope: The Animal Welfare Manager will conduct animal welfare audits, deliver hands-on animal handling training, coordinate PQA training and certifications, and actively participate in program support for the JBS Live Pork Texas – Colorado Region (TXC0). The TXCO Region has locations in Dalhart, TX, Lamar, CO and contract farms in Iowa and Illinois.A successful candidate will be able to work independently and maintain objective judgment. They will also need to be able to work with various stakeholder groups, including but not limited to Farm Managers, Production Managers, Field Managers, Contract Growers, Transporters, and processing plant personnel, to collaborate and provide feedback. Principle Responsibilities: Conduct and provide feedback on internal animal welfare and transportation audits (40%)Deliver hands on training to Field Managers, contract growers, and live haul drivers (30%)Coordinate and attend 3rd party audits (10%)Assist with record keeping, reporting and development of internal programs and materials (10%)Serve as a resource to internal and external stakeholders (10%)Overnight Travel approximately twice a quarter Working Conditions: Extensive travel required. Must be comfortable working in hog production facilities and around live animals. Required Qualifications: Must be able to become PAACO Certified.
