Annual Giving Manager - Philanthropy

POSITION PURPOSE

The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for project management and execution for all fund-raising strategies that comprise the Annual / Individual Giving Program. 

Working in partnership with the Director, Individual Giving the manager will play a key role in working with RHM ministry or site leaders as needed.  

The purpose of this position is to operationalize the program and to work across the department to get support or engagement to achieve program goals.       

Full-time benefited position scheduled 40 hours per week.   

Hybrid position working on-site at TH Ann Arbor and remote.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with the Director of Individual Giving to design the Annual Giving / Individual Giving Program. 

Project manage all components of the plan. Design a scorecard to track and report out results compared to targets for various initiatives as well as donor segments. 

Project management of annual and mid-level fundraising efforts working in conjunction with the communications director for consistent and strategic messaging to align with current initiatives, campaigns, or projects being executed by the Office of Philanthropy and the Health System. 

Support RHM Grateful Patient / Grateful Giving program. 

Act as support point person for each RHM.

Leverage donor analytics to identify target markets for strategic donor segmentation. Draft relevant communications (appeal content, and digital), with support of the communications director, as needed.

Create and distribute digital content to donors, including digital appeals and stewardship communications.

Utilize Blackbaud BBIS program to create online appeals, manage giving pages, and report on recipient activity, including open and click-through rates.

Assist with maintaining Blackbaud CRM database integrity, including updating donor records, merging and creating households, HIPAA opt-outs. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Education:   Requires bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:  3-5 years experience in Annual Giving Programs, hospital experience preferred. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong analytical skills and ability to use both qualitative and quantitative data for problem solving. 

Being flexible, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to see projects to completion.

Experience in working with relational databases with proficiency in a CRM platform to build and run queries, imports, exports, and reports.

Exercises excellent judgment and maintains confidentiality of private donor and patient protected data.

The ability to work independently as well as part of a team successfully.
