Job Summary

Camp counselors deliver a fun, safe, educational day camp program, supervising children ages 5-12 with kindness and positivity. Staff are part of a collaborative, solutions-focused team, and learn more about the natural world in order to inspire participants to care for it.

Essential Functions

Oversee participant well-being. Lead small group educational activities and museum exploration. Manage supplies to assist camp leaders with activity development and delivery. Assist camp staff with check-in and check-out protocols. Assist camp staff with adhering to health and safety protocols, including sanitization of shared supplies and spaces.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of HS Diploma or GED in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.  Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information. Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children in formal or informal settings. Red Cross First Aid and Epipen Trainings (ANS will cover the cost of the courses). FBI Fingerprinting, PA background check, and Child Abuse Clearances. Adherence to Drexel coronavirus protocols, including vaccination policies.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong interest in education, teaching or interpretation. Strong interest in natural history, science or museum studies. Available June 17 to September 9, 8:30 a.m-5 p.m.

Additional Information

This is a Full-Time temporary position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
