The Life Skills teacher collaborates with the teaching assistant and classroom aides to implement instruction based on individual needs. The candidate will implement and monitor IEP goal progression and provide updates on the students' progress to families. Skills/Abilities Required : + NYS Elementary Certification in students with Disabilities 1-6 required. + Ability to use instructional Technology to improve student performance and address professional responsibilities. + Understand IEP mandates and assessment protocols. + Proven ability to read, implement, collect data on, and adjust goals in IEP's. + Familiarity with a variety of special education teaching models. + Familiarity working with students with disabilities. + Having CPI training preferred. + Strong written and oral communication skills. + Ability to use positive behavior management strategies and support a positive c lassroom environment.
