Come and join a growing and innovative company! The AP Accountant is responsible for all aspects of the Accounts Payable process and its effect upon the Chart of Accounts. This position works with the Accounting Operations Team located at our headquarters in Hartselle, Alabama. Aspects of the job include: displaying initiative, analysis, problem-solving skills, improving, and maintaining the value of our processes and working with the Accounts Payable Manager to ensure the timely and accurate filing of monthly and annual financial information.

Job Responsibilities:Process vendor invoicesFinancial Analysis / ReviewExecution of new supplier agreements in accordance with company compliance policiesResolution of issues in the procure-to-pay processUse tax application / managementEnsure compliance with Marmon’s Standard Practice Instructions, Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP, FCPA and support internal auditsImplementing new processes and systems to ensure continue improvementAssist with month-end accounting, reporting and account reconciliationsAd hoc projects as needed and other duties as required

Qualifications, Experience, and Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field1-3 years accounting experienceThorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principlesStrong Excel skillsSelf-motivated, organized, with strong attention to detailStrong professional written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Experience in public accounting / fast-paced environment a plusExperience in accounting for commodities and/or wire and cable industry a plusAbility to learn new software quickly
