Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Compliance Clerk to help process paperwork associated with DBE invoices. The ideal candidate will have experience processing invoices in construction and will be trained to understand ensure compliance with DBE regulations. This role involves gathering and processing DBE invoices, monitoring and documenting compliance with DBE regulations and requirements, liaising with project managers, and supporting our team in ensuring that our subcontracting practices align with DBE regulations.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal DBE regulations and requirements
• Maintain and organize DBE invoices; gather appropriate documentation, certified payroll records, and compliance reports
• Assist in the preparation of DBE goal and performance reporting
• Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to confirm DBE invoices are approved and can be paid
• Assist in identifying certified DBE firms for potential subcontracting opportunities
• Resolve compliance issues as they arise
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Background in construction accounting preferred
• High school diploma; Associate’s degree preferred
• A minimum of 1 year of accounts payable experience
• Experience with JD Edwards a plus
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize work, prioritize and work to deadlines.
• Superior problem-solving skills and ability to use judgment and common sense.
• Must be a team player! Interpersonal skills
