A well-established and independent investment firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join its finance team in Vancouver.
About the Role
This role is initially a 1-year contract with movement to a permanent opportunity and is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments while maintaining strong internal controls. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.Manage payment cycles, including preparing electronic payments and issuing cheques.Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors.Maintain accurate financial records and support month-end closing activities.Assist in implementing and improving accounts payable processes and controls.Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth financial operations.Support other accounting functions as needed.What You Bring:2+ years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role.Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is an asset.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Compensation:$50,000-$55,000No benefits until a permanent opportunity is offered however, they can provide a bonus3 weeks vacationSome flexibility on hybrid working after the probation period
