Job Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing invoices and assisting the accounts payable team. The role involves managing vendor statements, responding to inquiries, processing employee expense reports, and providing administrative support for the accounting department.
Responsibilities
+ Match invoices to receiving documents based on assigned vendors and enter invoices into the accounting system.
+ Research vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries via phone or email on the status of payments.
+ Process employee expense reports in Concur.
+ Set up new vendors in accordance with 1099 guidelines and process claims payment requests.
+ Provide administrative support for the accounting department, including general filing.
+ Assist with preparing monthly client invoices by working with the accounts receivable team during month-end close to provide backup as requested.
+ Comply with company policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
+ Perform month-end processing, vendor approvals, pay cycle processing, and 1099 processing.
+ Serve as liaison to operations management and other corporate departments, assisting them with accounts payable and purchasing related issues, including check inquiries.
Essential Skills
+ Associate's degree
+ 2+ years of experience within accounts payable processing 400+ invoices per month
+ 2+ years of experience with purchase order creating and processing
+ 2+ years with an ERP such as Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, JDE, NetSuite, Workday or similar (can be in conjunction)
+ 2+ years of experience working with basic pivot tables, vlookups and sorting/filtering within Microsoft Excel
Work Environment
This role operates on a hybrid schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite - Monday & Friday remote work) and will report to the AP Supervisor as part of a team of 4+.
