Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a short term contract employment opportunity. This role is based in NORWALK, Connecticut, and will be part of our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for handling core financial tasks within our organization, focusing primarily on the execution and management of all aspects of accounts payable functions.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounts payable functions ensuring timeliness and accuracy, including vendor setup and maintenance
• Supervise invoice processing, including reviewing and verifying the details of invoices
• Act as a liaison within the organization, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to resolve any account payable issues
• Efficiently utilize and maintain financial systems like Concur and Oracle
• Ensure the organization's adherence to relevant statutory requirements and company policies
• Regularly monitor Accounts Payable reports, researching and resolving any discrepancies
• Manage and execute the accurate and timely processing of payroll
• Maintain and process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency
• Preserve accurate customer credit records and monitor customer accounts for necessary action
• Handle multiple tasks concurrently, maintaining attention to detail and organizational skills.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Account Coding and Accrual Accounting
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounting Functions
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Proficiency in using Concur for expense management
• Knowledge of Oracle software for accounting purposes
• The ability to work in a wholesale distribution environment
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards in handling financial data and transactions.
