About the role: 

 

As a Tax and A.P. Accountant, based in our Barcelona office, you will form part of a young, dynamic team of professionals. You will directly report to the Accounts Payable Manager of TME Spanish branch. TME ´s Finance Department´s mission is to cover the sign-off of all financial and management accounts, long-term business planning and the on-going development of the finance teams’ systems and processes. We are looking for an efficient, flexible, and hard-working Tax and A.P. Accountant to join our Finance team.   

 

Key Responsibilities :  

Filing of indirect tax returns to the tax authorities.  

Prepare data needed for IPT reporting and submit the Spanish Premium Tax filings.  

Be responsible for the correct report of VAT figures in the financial statements, VAT reporting to the Tax authorities and filing of returns.  

Prepare the Consorcio filings.  

Prepare the P&L mapping from US GAAP to local GAAP.  

Arrange tax payments as required.  

Liaison with Spanish and Italian tax advisors.  

Reporting to UK, Luxembourg, and Houston tax teams.  

Prepare the annual tax information request for the BU’s accounted for in the Barcelona office.  

Prepare and update the tax planning and ensure deadlines are met.  

Booking of tax activity in the general ledger.  

Manage and maintain the company’s tax database.  

Perform monthly reconciliation of indirect taxes vs General Ledger accounts; and assist in the reconciliation of the direct tax accounts.  

Prepare the consolidation and analysis of financial data with a tax perspective.  

Streamline the process of tax fillings.  

Assist the A.P. team in the preparation of internal and external audits.  

Regulatory compliance reporting.  

Prepare and submit reporting to the Spanish Central Bank.  

Monitor regulatory changes.  

Collect, assign, and follow up notifications from the tax authorities.  

Assist UK Tax Team with transfer pricing reporting.  

Assist the A.P. team with the monthly close.  

Assist with the preparation of the annual statutory accounts. 

Participate in cross-training with A.P. team members. 

 

Skills And Competencies Required :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.  

Proficient in MS Office package.  

Fluent proficiency in Spanish, English  

A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Tax Accountant or similar role. 

 

Skills And Competencies Preferred:   

Fluent proficiency in French and/or Italian
